Current restrictions in our area:

Diving is Not permitted beneath Poseidon temple at Cap Souniou, however the rest of the area is open to diving, ie along the coast to Souniou, Patrokolos and Arsida Islands, where we dive. For night dives, authorization must be obtained from the local port police prior to the dive, listing name of divers, certification number, boat registration if a night dive from a boat. If it is a night dive from a boat you must have VHS on board, a mobile phone is not acceptable. Other current restrictions. For certified divers, wishing to do a fun dive not under the control of a dive centre, the divers must hold certificates from the following diving certification agencies: PADI. ANDI, IANTD., as these are currently the only training organizations recognized by the Greek Government. I gather other training organizations are in the process of being recognized, so this is a very fluid situation. So if a diver has a NAUI. BSAC , SSI certification etc, they must dive with a registered dive centre. By registered I mean that the centre has the appropriate licence from the Ministry of Merchant Marine/Port Police.
